S and C are two girls who were born on the island of Borneo – S in the tiny country of Brunei and C in the massive jungle-lands of Sarawak.
An accurate depiction of S & C's combined geographical knowledge for the region. |
As fate would have it, they each had to travel 5340 kilometres down under to meet in a boarding school in Melbourne1 - an eerie building of questionable origin stationed depressingly in the middle of woop-woop2.
What followed then were a series of treacherous years behind bars3, filled with a compulsory schedule of waking, prep and bed times, rickety bunk beds, living quarters the size of a shoe-box and daily tussles of Darwinian proportions for cookies and Nutella.
Needless to say, it was a breeding ground for dissent and woe.
Seeing as how misery loves company, the girls bonded over their shared inability to cope with funky-smelling prisons masquerading as schools, and eventually became good friends who spent way too much time procrastinating together.

Fast forward through a couple of years of non-communication4 , and the girls finally managed to touch base again in a blubbering fit over William and Kate's royal wedding5 - an occasion which eventually proved to be a crucial point in Project Mintbean history.
Today, S is working
C, on the other hand, is back on the island. She spends most of her days alternating between staring at the wall and writing tear-stained letters to LVMH and Club21, imploring them to set up shop in her hometown.
Aside from spending too much time online shopping and squealing at cute animals on Youtube, C and S are also contributing members of society... We swear.

3 No, seriously. Our windows were literally lined with metal bars. We can only imagine it was a necessary precaution to curb any attempts at suicide... and also to crush your spirit whilst adding to the general atmosphere of despair.↩
4 After graduating from high school, it became blindingly obvious that we're also capable of procrastinating communication, which really should have been of no surprise at all to anybody.↩
5 That's right. We got in touch over a wedding between two people whom we have somehow managed to fool ourselves into believing we know on a personal level.↩
Your blog makes me laugh! Clever idea and clever writing!
